We are facing another three weeks of lockdown!

article Apr 19, 2020

One part of me was expecting that so I felt an internal nod of acknowledgement, another part of me let out a groan of despair, another part of me grabbed hold of the metaphorical bars of the cage around me and shook them hard in frustration.

THREE MORE WEEKS!!!

After a week or so of feeling calm acceptance, and actually starting to enjoy lockdown, it feels like I’m off on that emotional rollercoaster ride again, maybe without the huge emotional outbursts, but still a sense of shock, anger, denial and loss.

Having let my BEAR reactions run riot for a while*, I’ve calmed a bit and decided that it’s a good time to reflect on how the first three weeks of lockdown have been.

As part of this reflection I’ve created a simple framework that you might like to follow for yourself, with your partner, and with whoever else you share your living space with.

In turn:

  • Share 3 words to describe the first three weeks of lockdown

Complete the following 3 sentences:

  • The next three weeks could be even better if I……..(something personal you want to do)
  • The next three weeks could be even better if we……(something you want to change for you as a couple)
  • The next three weeks could be even better if everyone……(something for the whole household to start doing)

I can feel something start to shift in how I’m viewing the next three weeks. Look out for our video where we share our responses to these questions, and let us know how you get on.
